Heidi Schmitz, LMSW-C, MSW, RMT

Heidi Schmitz is a body-mind psychotherapist and licensed clinical social worker. She received her Master of Social Work (MSW) degree, with a focus on Interpersonal Practice and Mental Health, from the University of Michigan School of Social in 2019. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre and Dance from the University of Michigan-Flint in 2004. Heidi is also currently in training to become a registered Dance/Movement Therapist (R-DMT).

Heidi enjoys working with adults 18+ who face various challenges, including:

• life changes/transitions
• depression and mood disorders
• anxiety disorders
• severe and persistent mental illness
• trauma
• substance use disorders and recovery
• grief and loss
• environmental/climate distress
• chronic health issues
• challenges related to aging

Heidi’s focus in therapy is collaborative, working within a person-centered, strengths-based, and social-justice approach to assist people to achieve their therapy goals.

Prior to creating En Route Health & Wellness, LLC, Heidi worked in a variety of settings including community mental health agencies, a local free health clinic, the department of corrections, and a group private practice.  When out of the office, she enjoys dancing, bike riding, reading, listening to music, walking, and being in nature.
